Drawing Board Concept 1

I called this blog "Back to the Drawing Board" because I believe that, in ministry, we need to constantly reevaluate what we're doing. If we're not careful, it's very easy to miss God calling us in another direction. We were talking about the concept of ministry blogging at our Book-and-Breakfast this morning, and I was too tired or too confused to answer the question with clarity. Next time someone asks me about it, this is what I'll say:

When people moved to the United States, they built churches in the United States. When people moved west, they built churches in the west. During the Industrial Revolution, people moved to the cities and they built churches in the cities. When those people moved back out to the suburbs, they built churches in the suburbs. Church goes where people go.

When print media and journalism began to peak, churches extended their ministries into pamphlets or newsletters. When radio was the rage, churches extended their ministries into radio. When television proliferated, churches extended their ministries into television. When the internet hit, churches extended their ministries to the internet. When email became a preferred form of communication, churches began emailing people. Church goes where people go.

And whether or not we understand it, millions upon millions of people are blogging. We are called to reach people where they are, and this is where a lot of people are. God loves bloggers the same way He loves anyone else, and this is where we reach them.
