San Diego Chargers

Yes, I will get back to making normal posts as soon as tomorrow. Indulge me for one more day.

Picking an AFC team to root for is like deciding between the amputation of a pinky or a thumb. It's bad either way, but when it comes down to it, it's not a hard choice.

It's hard not to root for a guy like Billy Volek, a career backup who's finally getting his shot in the playoffs. Then again, it's hard to root for a quarterback named "Billy" unless it's a Pop Warner game.

Chargers fans have had a pretty bad run of it, and could probably go for an end to their suffering. Then again, Chargers fans live in "seventy and sunny" San Diego. Seems like a wash.

LaDanian Tomlinson seems like a good guy. Then again, Shawne Merriman took HGH.

It's fun to root for an underdog, and believe me, Volek and the Chargers are underdogs. Then again, I have a feeling this is going to be more like a wounded gerbil fighting a pride of lions.

But let's root for l'il Billy Volek to win a game and join the ranks of great postseason heroes like Joey Montana, Johnny Elway, and Tommy Brady.
